Before you buy

What matters for virtual tours

Megapixels matter less than you'd think. These three things make the difference.

A full 360° in one shot

A 360° camera captures the whole room at once. Phone panorama modes don't make full 360° photos, so they can't be used as tour scenes.

2:1 photos, ready to upload

Koala 360 takes 2:1 equirectangular JPG, PNG or WebP photos up to 50MB. Every camera on this page exports them from its app.

A stand and HDR

Shoot from a light tripod or monopod at chest height, and turn on HDR for rooms with bright windows.

Common Questions

Common questions about shooting 360° tours

Can I use my phone instead?

Regular phone panoramas aren't full 360° photos, so they won't work as tour scenes. You need a 360° camera, or an app that exports full 2:1 equirectangular photos.

Do I need an expensive camera?

No. A consumer 360° camera like the Insta360 X5 is plenty for property, hotel and venue tours. Spend more only if you shoot lots of dim interiors or deliver to demanding clients.

Can I build a tour before I buy a camera?

Yes. Create a free account and open the example tour to learn the editor. When your camera arrives, upload your photos and publish.

Can I try Koala 360 for free?

Yes. The Free plan gives you access to every feature with no payment required. Create unlimited tours, add hotspots, customise settings, and publish. Free tours include Koala branding — upgrade to Pro or Unlimited when you're ready to remove it.

What 360° cameras work with Koala 360?

Any camera or software that produces equirectangular 360° images. That includes Ricoh Theta, Insta360, GoPro MAX, and CGI renders from tools like 3ds Max, Blender, or Enscape.

Do tours work on mobile devices?

Yes. Tours are fully responsive and work on desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers. Viewers don't need to install an app — just open the link.

Do I need coding skills to use Koala 360?

No. Everything is managed through a visual dashboard — upload images, place hotspots, customise settings, and publish. No code required at any step.
